lyrics

Lyrics and music composed By Eyal Raz.
All music arranged By Eyal Raz & Yuval Mesner.

I remember my father telling me,
An inspiring tale.
Of some thing that happened to him
When he was young
About a boat that he had saved,
I don't know if it's a real tale,
But for those with out hope,
This tale can make them strong.

On a winter’s day.
A boat with students sailed away.
They didn’t hear a warning of a storm.
No other boat was leaving the shore
But the sky was blue and the sea was quiet
Everything seemed like it's gonna be fine.
On a winter’s day
My father and his students
Left the shore and sailed away.

Suddenly the sea got rough,
The sky turned black,
The birds had gone, and
Rain was pouring.
Big waves were coming, the boat was shaking,
But this tale had just begun,
My father's tale.

Yeah, my father told me a tale,
That on that winter day,
A boat with students lost its way,
Fear of danger took over them.
My father took a risk,
He said: "Maybe it was a foolish thing"!
He jumped into the freezing water,
Trying to reach the shore,
In search for help.

The swells were rising up,
The sky turned black,
The birds were gone,
The rain kept falling.
Big waves were coming, my father was swimming.
Yeah, oh yeah... the tale goes on.
My father’s tale.

This is the essence of the tale,
My father was fighting for his life.
The sea threatened his soul,
Desperation took control.

He began to feel scared
When he didn't see a chance for help.
The shore was far,
And everything seemed bad.
"Nothing left to do" he said,
"I began to sing songs,
That helped me fight the storm.
I sang all the songs I knew,
Until I reached the shore".
I succeeded to save them all.

"You see” my father told me:
"When things look bad,
You feel trapped and can’t
Find a way out.
Be strong and
Decide
To find the song,
That will distract your fear
Your song overcoming despair
'cause when in stormy waters
This will help you get through
A winter day.
